Toshiba Copier and Windows Server 2012

After installing a new Windows Server 2012 Essentials server I found that the exisitng Toshiba e-STUDIO2330C copier was unable to write scanned documents to a share on the new server.

Although workstations using the same credentials were able to copy files to the share, the copier appeared to be able to create a file, but not append to it. Three files 0 bytes in size were created for each attempted scan.

Disabling Trend Micro Worry Free Business Security on the server still did not improve the situation.
After a number of calls to Toshiba tech support, the problem was unable to be resolved, and I resorted to installing the Filezilla FTP server in the Windows server to allow the copier to deliver scans via FTP.
